How to Do a Dumbbell Swing?

Just like the kettlebell swing, the dumbbell swing is an explosive full-body movement. It builds strength and burns calories efficiently. Here’s how to do it step by step:

  • Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Hold the dumbbell with both hands firmly.
  • Slightly bend your knees, push your hips back, and keep your back straight.
  • Let the dumbbell swing back between your legs with a slight hip hinge.
  • Drive your hips forward powerfully, swinging the dumbbell up to chest height.
  • As it reaches chest height, push your hips back again and repeat the motion.

What Muscles Does It Work?

  • Gluteus Maximus (Glutes): Engaged during hip thrust.
  • Core: Stabilizes your spine and posture.
  • Deltoids (Shoulders): Works to lift and control the dumbbell.

Incorporate dumbbell swings into your training to strengthen your glutes, boost your core, and improve conditioning fast!
