How to Do a Push-up to Downward Dog
The Push-up to Downward Dog is a dynamic exercise that combines strength and flexibility. It targets your chest, shoulders, triceps, and core while stretching the hamstrings and back.
- Start in a high plank with hands shoulder-width apart and body straight.
- Engage your core and keep your hips from sagging.
- Bend your elbows, lower your chest to the floor, keeping elbows at about 45 degrees.
- Push back up to plank as you exhale.
- Lift your hips up and back into Downward Dog, pressing heels toward the floor and lengthening your spine.
- Hold briefly, then return to plank and repeat.
